D'Colin Priest · The Solid Light Chronicles
Two frameworks. One truth. Whether you approach it through the ancient Sanskrit tradition of Kundalini or through the modern clinical research of David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD — both maps describe the same territory: the spectrum of human consciousness, from its lowest contractions to its highest expansions.

The Bridge
A classically trained singer learns early that the voice does not live in the throat. It lives in the architecture of the skull. The diaphragm — that great muscular floor of the lungs — drives a column of air upward through the larynx, and from there the tone travels into the upper nasal passages, where it finds the resonating chambers: the sinuses, the ethmoid cells, the sphenoid cavity. These are the "flute holes" of the human instrument. When a singer learns to route the voice through these chambers rather than pushing it forward into the mouth, the tone becomes clear, focused, and effortless. It rings. That is what the classical tradition calls placement — and it is the reason a well-trained voice can fill a concert hall without amplification.
Now consider what Kundalini describes. The practitioner uses the diaphragm to drive a sustained tone — a mantra, a seed syllable — upward through the body. The vibration is not merely sound; it is a physical resonance that moves through the spinal column and into the cranial vault. The upper nasal passages, the sphenoid sinus, and the structures at the base of the skull sit in direct proximity to what the tradition calls the Ajna chakra — the Third Eye — and the Sahasrara, the Crown. The ancient practitioners were not speaking metaphorically. They were describing, in the language available to them, the same anatomical reality that a voice teacher describes when she tells a soprano to "think the tone into the forehead."
The mantras assigned to each chakra — LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, OM, AUM — are not arbitrary. Each is a specific vibrational frequency, a seed sound calibrated to the resonant frequency of its corresponding energy center. HAM, the mantra of the Throat chakra, is precisely the kind of open, forward-placed consonant that a voice teacher would use to open the pharyngeal space. OM and AUM, assigned to the Third Eye and Crown, are the tones that naturally route into the upper nasal and cranial resonators — the same chambers a classical singer is trained to activate.
The Kundalini tradition calls this raising the energy. The voice teacher calls it finding your resonance. The physicist calls it sympathetic vibration. David Hawkins would say you are raising your calibration. Wayne Dyer would say you are tuning your dial from AM to FM. They are all describing the same phenomenon — the deliberate elevation of one's vibrational state through disciplined, intentional sound. The instrument is the body. The diaphragm is the bellows. The skull is the resonating chamber. And the tone, when properly placed, does not merely fill a room. It fills the practitioner.
Map One
From Power vs. Force — David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD · As presented by Dr. Wayne Dyer
Hawkins used applied kinesiology and decades of clinical research to map human emotional states to a logarithmic scale from 1 to 1000. The scale is not linear — a single individual calibrating at 500 (Love) counterbalances the negative pull of 750,000 people below 200. The threshold of 200 (Courage) is the dividing line between what weakens and what strengthens — both the individual and the collective field around them.
| Level | Emotion | Life View | God View | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | Shame | Miserable | Despising | The lowest calibration. Humiliation so total it becomes identity. |
| 30 | Guilt | Evil | Vindictive | Blame turned inward or outward. Life is perceived as fundamentally wrong. |
| 50 | Apathy | Hopeless | Condemning | Despair so complete that action feels pointless. The frequency of abandonment. |
| 75 | Grief | Tragic | Disdainful | Pervasive sadness and loss. Grief has a cost — like diabetes, it kills one cell at a time. |
| 100 | Fear | Frightening | Punitive | Anxiety as a worldview. The universe is perceived as a source of threat. |
| 125 | Desire | Disappointing | Denying | Craving and wanting. Energy is consumed by what is not yet possessed. |
| 150 | Anger / Hate | Antagonistic | Vengeful | Frustration that has curdled. Can be a stepping stone upward — or a trap. |
| 175 | Pride | Demanding | Indifferent | Scorn and defensiveness. Pride feels like strength but is fragile — it depends on external validation. |
| 200 | Courage | Feasible | Permitting | THE THRESHOLD. The first level that strengthens rather than weakens. The ability to recognize truth from falsehood. |
| 250 | Neutrality | Satisfactory | Enabling | Trust and release. Life is no longer a battle to be won. |
| 310 | Willingness | Hopeful | Inspiring | Optimism becomes active. The willingness to do what is required. |
| 350 | Acceptance | Harmonious | Merciful | Amor Fati — Love of Fate. Forgiveness of self and others. The world is no longer an obstacle. |
| 400 | Reason | Meaningful | Wise | Understanding. The level of science, philosophy, and intellectual mastery. |
| 500 | Love | Benign | Loving | Reverence. Not romantic love — unconditional, impersonal, all-encompassing. The level of healing. |
| 540 | Joy | Complete | All Is One | Serenity. Inner joy that is independent of external conditions. |
| 600 | Peace | Perfect | All Being | Bliss. Stillness so profound it is perceived as luminous. Rare. |
| 700–1000 | Enlightenment | Is | Self | Ineffable. The self is no longer separate from the divine. The life view is simply: Is. |

Map Two
Sanskrit tradition · As mapped through Avatar: The Last Airbender — Guru Patik episodes
The seven chakras are energy centers arranged along the spinal column and into the cranial vault. In Kundalini practice, the goal is to clear each center of its specific blockage — working upward from the Root — so that energy (prana) can rise freely from the base of the spine to the Crown. Each center has an associated seed mantra (bija), a vibrational sound that resonates with that center's frequency when properly produced.
| # | Chakra | Sanskrit | Mantra | Element | Location / Theme | Blocked By | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Root | Muladhara | LAM | Earth / Stone | Base of the spineSurvival | Fear | Stores every experience — good and traumatic — in the subconscious. Transmits and receives in the red spectrum. All unresolved trauma begins here. | |
| Sacral | Svadhisthana | VAM | Water | Lower abdomenPleasure / Creativity | Guilt | The seat of creativity and addiction. Governs all relationships. Uncleared Root trauma transfers here as shame, guilt, rage, or abandonment. | |
| Solar Plexus | Manipura | RAM | Fire | StomachDiscipline / Will | Shame | Personal power and self-discipline. The fire center. Where the will to act is born or extinguished. | |
| Heart | Anahata | YAM | Air | Center of the chestLove | Grief | The bridge between the lower (physical) and upper (spiritual) centers. Love — not sentiment, but the force that connects. | |
| Throat | Vishuddha | HAM | Ether / Sound | Center of the neckTruth | Lies | Blocked by the lies we tell ourselves. The seat of authentic expression — voice, song, and spoken truth. | |
| Third Eye | Ajna | OM | Light | Center of the foreheadInsight | Illusion | The seat of intuition and inner vision. Blocked by illusion — the stories we mistake for reality. | |
| Crown | Sahasrara | AUM | Cosmic | Top of the headCosmic Truth | Attachment | Union with the infinite. Blocked by attachment to the physical world and the ego's need to define itself. |

Correspondence
The two systems were developed independently, millennia apart, in different cultures and languages. Yet the emotional architecture they describe is strikingly parallel. The blockages Kundalini identifies in the lower chakras correspond almost exactly to the states Hawkins places below the 200 threshold.
| Chakra | Blockage | Hawkins Level | Hawkins Emotion | Correspondence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Root (1) | Fear | 100 | Fear | Exact match. Both traditions place survival fear at the base of the system. |
| Sacral (2) | Guilt | 30 | Guilt | Exact match. Guilt as the emotional residue of unresolved Root trauma. |
| Solar Plexus (3) | Shame | 20 | Shame | Exact match. Shame — the lowest calibration — lives in the gut. |
| Heart (4) | Grief | 75 | Grief | Exact match. The heart center blocked by loss. |
| Throat (5) | Lies | 175 | Pride | Close correspondence. Pride and self-deception both require the maintenance of false narratives. |
| Third Eye (6) | Illusion | 125 | Desire | Correspondence. Desire and illusion both represent mistaking the projected image for reality. |
| Crown (7) | Attachment | 700–1000 | Enlightenment | The Crown opens when attachment dissolves — the same condition Hawkins describes at the highest levels. |
These maps are not religion. They are not doctrine. They are instruments of self-assessment — the same way a thermometer is not a philosophy of heat. The question both systems ask is identical: Where are you right now? And the answer, in both cases, determines what you can receive.
Wayne Dyer put it simply: you cannot tune into FM while your dial is set to AM. The higher frequencies — love, joy, peace, contact, illumination — are broadcasting constantly. The work is not to find them. The work is to become the frequency that can receive them.
